Newcastle 2-2 Town Sat 16th Mar 2002 18:22
An Alan Shearer penalty in time beyond the three minutes added on by referee Mike Riley threatened to give all the points to Newcastle from an exciting game at St James' Park. Fortunately for Town, Shearer put his kick wide of the post and a point was the least Town deserved after a battling display had twice seen them ahead through Marcus Bent. That the penalty had been awarded for an obvious dive by Clarence Acuna would have added extra salt to the wound, had Shearer scored.
Blackburn 2-1 Town Wed 13th Mar 2002 22:52
Despite a second half fightback it ended a black night for Town's black clad men, with George Burley suffering his 100th league defeat as Ipswich manager. A disappointing first half saw Blackburn two-up, but a much improved second half saw Marcus Stewart get back into scoring action, but it wasn't enough to get Town a valuable point.
Leeds 2-0 Ipswich Wed 06th Mar 2002 22:43
Leeds ran out 2-0 winners of a wind affected game at Elland Road this evening. Once again Town must reflect on more errors at the back, but in truth the Blues created little of consequence despite the odd decent passing move in midfield.
Town 1-3 Southampton Sat 02nd Mar 2002 18:27
A tired looking Town fell to their second successive home defeat and are now firmly back in the relegation battle. The Blues rarely looked at the races as Gordon Strachan's men won the midfield battle and took their chances.

Town 0-6 Liverpool Sat 09th Feb 2002 18:10
Town fell to their worst home defeat in the Premiership as a rampant Liverpool side took them apart. A fairly even first half looked to be ending 1-0 to the away side, but a Heskey goal just before half-time was the signal for a superb second half attacking display for the the Reds.
Everton 1-2 Town Sat 02nd Feb 2002 18:09
A Matt Holland freekick just before the break gave Town the points as the Blues once more put in a battling performance to hold on to a one-goal lead, taking them up to 12th in the process.
Town 1-0 Fulham Wed 30th Jan 2002 22:50
A 10th minute goal from Marcus Bent won Town another three points and took them out of the bottom three. Fulham had a late flurry but created little in the way of clearcut chances in an attacking game played in soaking wet conditions, much like the match earlier in the season at Craven Cottage.
Town 1-4 Manchester City Sun 27th Jan 2002 22:49
Town fell to an embarrassing 4-1 home defeat to First Division opposition as an excellent second half City performance won the day. Town had had the better of the first half, but City went in one up after Eyal Berkovic had made the best of a dubiously awarded corner.
